Returning Customer Kitchen Renovation in Richmond — White Shaker + Quartz
Returning Richmond customer — after we completed their daughter's bathroom, the homeowners came back for the kitchen. The constraint that defined every decision: they were living in the home during construction, so the schedule had to be as compressed as possible without cutting corners. Full white shaker cabinets, white quartz waterfall-edge peninsula, beige stone backsplash, and under-cabinet LED lighting to soften the evening atmosphere. The homeowners asked us to leave the space above the upper cabinets open rather than closing it with bulkheads — keeps the ceiling line breathing instead of pressing down. New LVP flooring replaces the orange cork; recessed lights replace the single ceiling fixture. The peninsula was retained from the original U-shape layout but rebuilt with full-height waterfall quartz panels and new full-depth drawers. Same site as their earlier bathroom project — same trust, same crew.

Homeowners had to keep living in the home during construction, so every demolition and install step had to be sequenced around their daily life. The original kitchen had limited light (single ceiling fixture, orange cork floor absorbing what light there was), low-profile slab cabinets that left the upper bulkhead space dead, and a beige laminate counter that had bowed at the seams.
Aming Solusyon
Compressed schedule — site protection on day one, demolition + appliance disconnect day 2-3, cabinet install + countertop template overlap, electrical for under-cabinet LED + recessed retrofitted into the same week. Full white shaker cabinets stopping short of the ceiling per client request (open shelf above keeps the room breathing). Quartz waterfall on the peninsula, LVP throughout, new sink + faucet, beige stone-look backsplash carrying through to the range wall.
