Whole-House Renovation with Three New Bathrooms in Richmond
This Richmond house still carried its original era inside — wood-panel walls, carpet on every floor and stair, popcorn ceilings, and three dated bathrooms with gold-framed glass and dark vanities. We took the interior back to a clean, bright baseline: certified asbestos removal with an air-quality report, three bathrooms rebuilt from the studs, a new laundry area, luxury vinyl plank throughout with 14 rebuilt stairs and a modern black railing, smooth ceilings with 35 new pot lights, and fresh paint through the whole house.
The Challenge
The popcorn ceilings, bathroom wall tiles and bedroom wallpaper tested positive for asbestos, so nothing could be demolished until certified abatement was complete. Beyond that, every finish in the house was original: carpet on the stairs and floors, wood-panel walls, three worn bathrooms, and an aging laundry area.
Our Solution
We sequenced certified asbestos removal first — three popcorn ceilings, two bathrooms of wall tile and the bedroom wallpaper — closing with an air-quality report. Then the rebuild: the ensuite gained a walk-in shower with black-framed sliding glass, the hallway bathroom a new tub-shower, and the powder room a new vanity, all in white-shaker and warm wood tones with matte-black fixtures. Carpet gave way to LVP throughout, with 14 new stair treads and a modern railing. Smooth ceilings, 35 pot lights, new laundry cabinetry and whole-house paint finished it.
