Transparent Pricing
Every Reno Stars quote is written out line by line, and every payment is tied to a stage of the build rather than a date on a calendar. This page explains how that works before you ask us for a number.
What is inside a Reno Stars quote
The quote is built from the scope we measured at your home, so it reads as a list of work — not as one rounded number for the word renovation.
Itemised, area by area
Work is broken out by room and by trade. You can see what each part of the project costs instead of one total covering everything.
Every line names the work it covers
A line item is more than a label and a price. It carries the steps included in that item, so the scope you are paying for is written down instead of agreed verbally.
Labour, materials, management, cleanup
Quotes cover labour, materials, project management and cleanup. Permits are included where they apply to your project.
Exclusions written down, not hidden
A quote may exclude permit and municipal inspection fees, and costs for hidden conditions found once walls are open — structural damage, or outdated wiring and plumbing. Where that applies, it is stated on the quote.
Payments follow the build, not the calendar
Payment terms are set out in each project contract. They are typically structured around these stages:
Most common schedule
10%
On signing
40%
At start of construction
25%
At the first build milestone
20%
At the second build milestone
5%
After the final walkthrough
The five-stage schedule below is the one we use most often. The stages that apply to your project, and the trigger for each, are named in your contract — so you can see what releases every payment before you sign.
We accept e-transfer, certified cheque and credit card.
How to get your number
Free in-home consultation
We come to you, measure, and walk through the scope together. There is no charge for the visit and no deposit is required to receive a quote.
Written itemised quote
You receive the written estimate, typically within 2–3 business days of the visit. Unless we state otherwise in writing, it holds for 30 days.
Read it line by line
Compare scope, not just the bottom line. A cheaper quote often reads cheaper because something you still need has been left out of it.
Frequently Asked Questions
- Is the consultation and quote free?
- Yes. In-home consultations and written renovation estimates are free, and no deposit is required to receive a quote.
- What is included in the price, and what is not?
- Quotes cover labour, materials, project management and cleanup, with permits included where they apply. A quote may exclude permit and municipal inspection fees, and costs for hidden conditions discovered during construction such as structural damage or outdated wiring and plumbing. Anything excluded is written on the quote itself.
- How long is a quote valid?
- Unless we state otherwise in writing, a quote is valid for 30 days from the date it is issued. Final pricing is established when the project contract is signed.
- What happens if the scope changes mid-project?
- Mid-project scope changes are handled as written change orders. They require written agreement from both sides and may affect both the project price and the timeline, so nothing is added to your bill without your signature.
